The hotel Jeu de Paume - a traditional chalet that has become an institution in the Chamonix valley - is proud to benefit from the international Green Key ecological label.
Today, the young generation of this family establishment becomes the guardian of this beautiful Savoyard heritage. Their challenge: to preserve the authenticity of the place but also to embody excellence in terms of eco-responsibility and respect for the environment.
The new team, and the director Elsa, are fully committed to the Green Key label approach. They work every day to reduce the ecological impact, preserve natural resources, limit pollution and promote sustainable tourism, and give you a new experience.
The Green Key ecological label
An international environmental label since 1998, Clef Verte is the first ecolabel for tourist accommodation and restaurants. It allows everyone to assert their social responsibility and participate in sustainable development. Each establishment benefiting from the Clef Verte label meets more than a hundred specific criteria and is regularly subject to audits in order to verify the action plan implemented and to attest to the seriousness of the establishments. There are 120 criteria that establishments must meet to obtain the label and commit to sustainable tourism. These criteria are structured around seven main themes: environmental policy, environmental awareness, water management, waste management, energy management, responsible purchasing and living environment.
To meet as many of these criteria as possible, our Chalet hotel and its team have implemented ecological actions, accompanied by instructions and advice for travelers.

Committed to the environment, the team at our Chamonix hotel has implemented measures to reduce our ecological footprint. We use the latest generation of energy-efficient LED bulbs to limit our energy consumption. Furthermore, the sauna and hammam are only activated upon request. To reduce pollution, we have adopted a paperless policy. We prioritize recyclable products and high-quality everyday items in eco-friendly packaging. This includes our organic coffee available in your room and, of course, our toiletries. In addition, our waste is sorted, and we have a compost bin in the garden to nourish our vegetable patch . Recycling bins are also provided for our guests.
The heating of the rooms is programmed by the reception for optimal comfort and a reduction in heat loss. But above all, this year, during the off-season, we have completely redone the insulation of all our facades.
In line with our commitments, we work exclusively with companies that share our ecological values. For example, all our products, whether breakfast items or soaps and cleaning products, are organic and local.
Thanks to these initiatives in line with the Green Key criteria, we create an authentic experience where each stay actively contributes to the preservation of our planet.
