Our story
Le Lavancher – Chamonix Mont-blanc
An exceptional natural setting
and the magic of Lavancher worked
Once upon a time... the architect Guy Prache, lover of unusual and exceptional places.
A regular visitor to the Chamonix Valley, he discovered, in the hamlet of Lavancher, a traditional chalet that has been a popular stopover for high mountain enthusiasts for decades.
So our chalet was already there! Guy Prache added comfort and his vision of French luxury by combining authentic regional furniture and unusual objects.
For this second life the chalet is named Jeu de Paume. It follows two other establishments: the hotel Jeu de Paume Paris, located in a building in the 17thnd, and the Bellevue hotel on the old port of Marseille.
More recently, regulars at our chalet-hotel have noticed a rejuvenation of the team, a rise in digital technology.
This is the Pierre Prache effect – second generation.
Attached to the magic of the place that rocked his childhood, a lover of mountain sports, Pierre decides to continue the adventure by adding a touch of novelty.
This passing of the torch goes hand in hand with the commitment to sustainable development. Thus, the new team is proudly working on the International Ecolabel “Green Key”.
